Fashion Commentary and Opinion Writing

I write about fashion from the perspective of an informed and critical consumer, and explore the industry’s relationship with consumers of color. I also write about the complexities of beauty, celebrity and ethnicity.

With over a decade of experience in broadcast news and writing, I now write fashion commentary and opinion for xoJane, the web’s fastest-growing women’s lifestyle site, and The Grio, a NBC News site geared toward the African-American community.  I’ve also produced radio features on fashion for NPR, featuring industry experts like Christina Binkley of the Wall Street Journal and Pulitzer Prize-winning fashion columnist, Robin Givhan.

Below is a selection of my published commentaries and talk show segments.
